How to Secure a Telegram Channel After You Buy It

Buying the channel is only half the deal. Here’s how to take clean control on Telegram before you release escrow on Dealtous.

À retenir

  • Owner role first, cleanup second, confirm last.
  • Turn on Telegram two-step verification on your own account before you accept owner.
  • Leftover bots and linked chats are how channels get stolen back.

Do not confirm escrow until you are actually the owner

On Dealtous, funds stay in escrow until you confirm you have full access. That confirmation is the last step — not the first. If the seller only added you as a limited admin, or a previous owner is still in the admin list, do not confirm. Open a dispute with your order ID instead.

The goal is simple: you should be able to change the channel title, permalink, admin list, and posting rights without anyone else reversing it.

Secure your own Telegram account first

Turn on two-step verification (cloud password) on the Telegram account you will use as owner. Use a unique password and a recovery email you control. If that account is weak, the channel you just bought is weak too.

Do the transfer from a device you trust. Ignore anyone claiming to be “Telegram Support” in DMs — Telegram staff will not ask you to share codes or session files.

Get owner rights before you remove anyone

Ask the seller to add your account as administrator with full rights, then transfer the Owner role to you. Confirm in channel settings that you can add and remove admins.

Only after you can manage the admin list should you remove the seller, extra bots, and leftover administrators. Removing people too early is a common way buyers lose a channel during a messy handoff.

Lock the channel settings

Change the public link if the listing allows it and you need a clean brand. Review connected discussion groups, bots with post rights, and invite links. Revoke links you did not create.

Check who can post, who can add members, and whether comments or a linked chat still give the previous team a foothold.

Then confirm on Dealtous

When you truly control the channel, confirm access in your Dealtous order. That releases payout to the seller. If anything is off — hidden admin, missing owner, stats that do not match the listing — keep escrow frozen and use the dispute path.

Questions fréquentes

The seller says they will remove themselves after I confirm. OK?

No. You should already be able to remove them. If you cannot, you are not owner yet.

Should I change the public username immediately?

If branding requires it and Telegram allows it, yes — after you have owner, before you confirm if the listing promised a clean handle. Do not confirm if the handle was part of the deal and it did not move.
